Mary Katrantzou Ready to Wear Fall 2013

Mary Katrantzou is quickly emerging as one of my absolute favorite designers. This graphic designer turned fashion hit maker really gets the nuances of artistic development and the creative process. Katrantzou’s fall collection presents a divergence from what we’re used to seeing from her. It’s a bit darker, more edgy, tough, and enigmatic. I wouldn’t count on her keeping on this course though, as it’s common for a new designer to reevaluate their line many times over in the nascent stages of production. I’m willing to bet that Katrantzou’s line and herself will continue to grow together hand in hand, and I just can’t wait to see how she reinvents the brand next time.
